OMG XMAS!
Our first holiday in Florida is coincidentally the single holiday which feels most out of place in Florida.
While we don't miss the cold wet snow, I will certainly miss my family on Christmas day. I know the girls feel the same. However we are blessed to have family and friends here to spend time with, helping to ease the bizarre change in weather and lack of familiar festivities.
We love you all, and hope everyone has a great Christmas!

Christmas is almost here....

Just finished my first week of work in the Emergency Room and am already getting some very interesting patients:-) I have alot to learn but I am very excited and know I am gonna really enjoy working at St Anthony's Hospital. I finally feel like all that school work has finally payed off. I am a little overwhelmed at times because its such a change from my last job but I know I will eventually get used to it.

Carmen is going to start school tomorrow and she is very excited. She got to go meet the teachers during a practice day last Friday and said she really enjoyed it. Thanks to gramie we enjoyed an evening at the zoo last night for Carmen's christmas present. Carmen loved it, especially when she got to pet the sting rays.
Getting ready for christmas to come, even though I don't even feel like its christmas( maybe the weird weather change). It's actually a little chilly here (60 today). I know all of you up north are saying "whatever thats nothing!".

Alina took us to the most amazing Italian cafe/bakery I have ever seen. It had al kinds of food from meats to homemade pasta to canolis. Will definitely be going back for more. We miss you all and hope everyone is doing well...We'll continue to keep you all updated.

After a long drive we finally made it...

Well, after a long drive we finally made it. The trucks unloaded and our house is starting to look like a home. Of course the day we arrive its raining and 55 degrees outside but I'll take that over snow! We are very excited to begin our new adventure as Floridians, although it still feels like we are on a long vacation right now. I am looking forward to starting my new job at St Anthony's hospital on Monday although a little nervous:-) Carmen is enjoying her new bedroom and already has asked to go to the beach in the 50 degree raining weather! Still looking for a preschool for Carmen so she can start after Christmas. We miss all of our family and friends back in the north and feel bad for everyone who had to shovel this past week:-) Love you all

Waiting in Limbo

So close yet it feels so far away...
We officially begin the final steps of our journey in just less than a week, when we will be packing up the UHaul to venture south to the city of St. Petersburg, FL. This past month has gone by faster than anticipated, as we've interwoven our normally scheduled lives into dividing our time between family and friends. Yet somehow this final week seems to be dragging on.
I'm sure it has nothing to do with the inevitable 24 hour drive in a giant truck.
While we anticipate December 6th, we hope to share with everyone our move to a new beginning in Florida. Nicole and I will be doing our best to post weekly updates as we spend our first year away from the friends and family who have shown us love and support in the past few years.
Thanks again to everyone from all of us,
-Jer
